Sculpture Gallery

Artist's Statement: My work is primarily based on forms from the female figure and on landscape. I combine recognizable shapes from both, intentionally or unconsciously, as they contrast or complement each other. The processes include carving in marble and wood, or modeling with clay or plaster. It is important that the work is a complete entity in itself and not appear fractured or as a fragment of the figure. Scale, real or implied, can be dramatically different in the same piece from different views. Ambiguity, duality, and scale are the elements that I use to make sculpture that reverberates between the figure and landscape.
